There lived a man named Saul ben Kish. As the Prophet Samuel judged the land, enemies prowl on every side. Some in the valleys, and some from within. Since his childhood, Saul yearned for a peace fleeting from his grasp as he searches for the truth of what is or isn't to be.
But as the shadows grow longer, revealing a world that isn't there, with the echoes of restless memories tearing his mind into two, it's only a matter of time before his very being succumbs to fear. He can only dream of the day he'd rest... If only his dreams weren’t nightmares.

His mind is represented by various symbolism and visions occurring throughout the story that visualizes his mentality from every experience he has within the duration of his entire life. It depicts his upbringing, his origins, and how his relationships and the world affect him, with the sentiment of what he is made to be, and who he is to be. He longs for a peace he’s constantly chasing, and the truth of who controls the path he walks. Beginning with him in his youth, he trudges through his life experiencing every horror, every tear, every laugh, and every fear keeping him from seeing what’s there. His very being is at question, and so is the concept of his life, and when the spirits of his visions take hold of him, he must remember to learn who he is again.The Book of Saul has been in the works for almost 5 years now, with the first draft written in 2020, along with an even earlier draft written in 2018 where its very concept was formed. A passion project like this has been carefully crafted in every plotline for the story in order to tell the story of Saul with its own idea of how he can be depicted. King Saul has been the one character that interested me the most, from the nature of his character to his seemingly tragic life in biblical text. It’s to the point I’ve been fascinated by his thought process and psyche. For me to retell Saul’s story, from his very mind, is something worth retelling.This retelling however is heavily fictionalized, and it somewhat follows a story of its own with those in Saul’s life who carry out his story, giving him various goals to fulfill. Not everything will be as accurate to the original story in biblical scripture. It’s called the Book of Saul for a reason, different from the Book of Samuel, because this story is Saul’s.Now, you may be wondering, will this be a series? Sort of. I have two more books I’ve been planning once I finish Saul’s story. This will be a trilogy that all relates to Saul, but they can be standalone novels. That’s as much as I can say, and whatever the future has for the Book of Saul, I can hardly wait to share it.
